Red Palm Pool Restaurant has had a new chef since December, 2018, and we are happy and excited to announce some of the changes at this beautiful location.

Red Palm Villages is owned by Anna and Leo, a Dutch couple who choose Bonaire as their new home in 2015. The restaurant was already known because of the former chef, Danny, but with the arrival of Chef Corjan, the restaurant has some great new additions.



Corjan Hoogerheide, who started at Red Palm at the beginning of December, chose Bonaire as his favorite island after traveling and working on Curacao, Aruba, Statia and St Martin. Corjan comes from Zeeland in the Netherlands, a Dutch province that consists of many islands. He started in the restaurant business when he was 16 years old and was inspired by the chefs he watched who made beautiful tasty meals out of simple ingredients.



He competed in and won many national cooking championships, was chairman of a cooking club in Zeeland, wrote his own cookbook “de helft is liefde “(Half of it is Love) and was a well-known TV chef at Easy Cooking, a regional TV program.


Corjan’s ideal was to work in the winter season in the Caribbean and in Zeeland during the busy summer season. He decided to change things up and stay on Bonaire throughout the year. As he describes it, ”the island virus got me!” He enjoys the laid back atmosphere of Bonaire, feels safe, likes that everything is available, loves the restaurants and is able to scuba dive whenever he likes.


New Menu

Red Palm Restaurant was known for its Chef’s Surprise Menu before, but has decided to introduce a menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu still provides you with some items that will change frequently like the catch of the day, the soup, the stew or Stampot (a Dutch dish, country style). Those menu items will be prepared with the freshest produce available on the island that day.


Red Palm is located at the curvy way to Sorobon and has a very friendly casual restaurant setting. With an open kitchen, you can watch the chef prepare the food or sit at the beautiful pool and calming waterfall.


The restaurant has two nights that the a la carte menu is not served:

Monday a food truck is on the property during Monday’s Movie Night at the pool.

Thursday is “Prepare your own BBQ.” On Thursdays the guests can bring their own food items and prepare them the on the pool BBQ.


Red Palm is open for Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks and Dinner. Dinner is between 6 and 9 pm. In case you want to celebrate a special occasion with some special foods, you can talk to Corjan about the details. But please keep in mind that when special food items need to be ordered, please call at least 1 week in advance.


If you have allergies please, notify them in advance and they are more than happy to take these into account.


Here are some delicious items from the new menu:

Pearl couscous salad served with Serrano ham, goat cheese and mango chutney

Mini Burger served with a spicy bell pepper sauce, bacon and fried onion.

Beef tenderloin with mushroom and truffle sauce served with potato and fresh veggies.

TIP: Always ask for the daily specials, many items are fresh made chef specials!


NEW TV Program - Every Sunday

Both Leo and Corjan are experienced in the field of TV and started filming a new TV program with NOS TV at the end of February. The Brunch Program is filmed at Red Palm Pool Restaurant every Saturday. The program: Brunch & Babbels (chat/talk) will showcase special people on the island who will talk to Leo, the owner, and Corjan about a variety of interesting topics concerning the island and its people. Corjan will be cooking a 4 course brunch with explanations so TV viewers are able to join in the cooking.


The program Brunch & Babbels, consists of interesting and special people who help at good causes on the island, have special knowledge, guest chefs who will cook together with Corjan, people who will be surprised and much more.


Sunday Brunch

You can enjoy a delicious brunch on Sundays at Red Palm . The 4 course menu is +/- $ 27.50. Make your reservation!
