The Department of Social Support and Labour Market Mediation (MOA) of the Public Entity Bonaire (OLB) and the RCN unit for Social Affairs and Employment (SZW) will be working together to help parents and caretakers of school-age children with the purchase of school supplies and school uniforms. A compensation can be requested at MOA for children attending primary education and at SZW for children attending secondary education (SGB). In order to make it easier for residents, this year joint application moments are planned.
SZW has increased the income standard to $1250 net per month per household in order to qualify for a an allowance. If there are multiple children in a family who attend secondary education the income standard is higher.
Parents and caretakers with children in primary school, or children in both primary and secondary education, can make use of the joint application meetings of MOA and SZW. These take place from May 14th up to and including May 18th at Plasa Chiku Goeloe in Antriol and on May 20th and May 21st in the administration building in Rincon from 13:30 pm until to 19:30 pm. When submitting the application strictly for children who attend the SGB, parents are welcome during the regular appointment hours of the Social Relief department at the SZW office on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 8.00 am and 10.00 am, or during extra appointment hours in the month of June on Monday and Friday between 14.00 pm and 16.00 pm.
Applicants must bring with them a valid ID, pay slips of the past two months, bank statements of the past two months and a marriage book or family book. For primary school children parents should bring the school declaration and for children who attend the SGB a certificate of registration or the last report card from the primary school. A guardian or legal caretaker should bring a decree, which shows that she/he is responsible for the child.
