The Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) has established the maximum rates for the distribution of electricity in the Caribbean Netherlands that come into force on July 1st, 2019.
Bonaire
For Bonaire the variable usage rate drops from 0.2693 USD/kWh to 0.2672 USD/kWh. The Pagabon (prepaid) maximum rate descends from 0.4765 USD/kWh to 0.4744 USD/kWh. For the consumption of an average household on Bonaire this means a decrease of USD 0.50 per month.
St. Eustatius
For St. Eustatius, the variable usage rates increases from 0,2965 USD/kWh to 0.3047 USD/kWh. For the consumption of an average household on St. Eustatius, this means an increase of USD 2.00 per month.
Saba
For Saba the variable usage rate drops from 0.3516 of USD/kWh to 0.3278 USD/kWh. For the consumption of an average household on Saba, this means a decrease of USD 6.00 per month.
Distribution rates adjusted twice a year
The ACM determines maximum rates for the production and distribution of electricity in the Caribbean Netherlands. For the distribution of electricity ACM adjusts the rates twice a year, so that they can take account of the development of prices for the fuel needed to produce electricity.
