Waterbird Census by STINAPA
Date: Saturday, 21st of January 2017
Time: 4.30 - 6.00 pm
Location: LVV or Fishermen's Pier Sorobon

On Saturday January 21st from 4:30-6pm there will be an opportunity for joining STINAPA in a waterbird census activity to collect important information on water birds in Bonaire.
Bonaire is an extremely important stopover for migrating birds and is home to many non-migrating birds as well. Bonaire takes bird conservation seriously and has five Ramsar sites (important wetlands) and five Important Bird Areas.
In an effort to learn more about the Caribbean’s waterbird populations, Birds Caribbean and STINAPA ask enthusiasts to collect waterbird data from January 14th to February 3rd.
If you would like to contribute, then join STINAPA Saturday January 21st at 4:30pm at either LVV or the fishermen’s pier at Sorobon. Our staff will meet you there with data sheets, binoculars and bird id guides to help you with your very own data collection.
Group size is limited, so you must RSVP at 717-8444 and indicate which site you would prefer to collect data at – either LVV or Sorobon Pier.
We hope to see you there! If you can’t make it, but would like to participate in the CWC, visit Birds Caribbean’s website for more information (birdscaribbean.org).
