Grand Windsock Bonaire was finally able to celebrate their grand opening with the owners, island officials, Tourism Corporation Bonaire, suppliers and guests on May 20, 2022.
At the end of March, 2021, right in the middle of the covid pandemic, the construction work at Grand Windsock was completed. All of the 72 luxurious villas and apartments have been ready to welcome guests in the most comfortable way since July, 2021. Grand Windsock is located just steps away from the Caribbean Sea, with a pool bar, a private beach club, a diving school, rental cars, 24-hour concierge service and villas with their own private swimming pool.
Charles Vos, General Manager at Grand Windsock, was happy to finally celebrate the opening with everyone in person.
Charles has worked in the hospitality industry for many years. The Canadian born Dutchman worked in the Netherlands as a hotel manager in several hotels before he decided he needed a change of scenery. While he pictured it to be Belgium, or maybe France, destiny decided it to be Bonaire.
Charles has been a resident of Bonaire for more than 10 years and has continued to work mostly in the hospitality industry, from Sand Dollar to Divi Flamingo and now at Grand Windsock.
Opening a big resort during the pandemic was a challenge, but the reactions have been very positive and, since opening last year in July, the resort has been almost fully booked. Charles is very thankful for the great local feedback, as many Bonaireans and their families are frequent guests at the resort.

The great location, comfort and service made Grand Windsock win traveler’s choice for the second time. it received the Tripadvisor Travelers' Choice Award in the area of hotels for two consecutive years, indicating that the resort is once again among the top 10% of hotels worldwide. Luxury Living and Service
Grand Windsock is one of the largest resorts on the island. With 72 villas and apartments, the resort houses 400 beds. Grand Windsock consists of 42 villas with a private swimming pool and 30 apartments with garden or sea view that sleep 4 to 6 people.
The apartments and villas are privately owned and exclusively managed, maintained and booked for vacation rentals by Grand Windsock Resort. The villas and apartments are equipped with a fully furnished kitchen, a large in and outside living room and multiple bathrooms.
The villas offer complete privacy and safety, fresh air, sun and 24-hour concierge services. To travel around the island, Grand Windsock has their own rental cars ready at your villa or apartment. With full coverage insurance, you will have a carefree drive.
To ensure maximum comfort for all the guests, the check in and out procedures are directly at the apartments or villas. There is also a grocery shopping service and at home massage or hair dresser appointments are available to guests, as well as the 24-hour WhatsApp concierge service, BBQ and room service.
The oceanfront, private beach club, The Beach, is a popular place to enjoy a drink or some great food and right at resort’s large pool, the guests can enjoy food and drinks at the pool bar.
