Press Release Kiwanis Club of Kralendijk

Child Safety Seat Project

Following the announcement of the implementation of the Traffic Act Bonaire which included the new child safety seat rule, Kiwanis Club of Kralendijk, Bonaire set out to raise funds to be able to provide less fortunate families with children under the age of 4 with child safety seats.

Thanks to the sponsors and the community of Bonaire, who contributed with our fundraising events we were able to acquire 28 brand new child safety seats that comply with the safety rules.

Even though the transitional period for the introduction of the new law has been prolonged, the safety of little children is important to Kiwanis Club of Kralendijk, Bonaire and cannot be postponed.

The new law states in Article 77 sub 2 that children under 4 years of age or younger may only ride along in a car if they are seated in a child safety seat or booster seat. This child safety seat must have a seal of approval. Together with SHiF/ Jeugd en Gezin, Kiwanis club of Kralendijk, Bonaire selected Tabitha, Sentro Pre-eskolar Hardin Tia Sus and Mama Hoben Aktivo

The costs of the Kiwanis of Kralendijk, Bonaire Child Safety Seat Project are covered with funds raised by the club throughout the year.
