From the 11th till the 21st of October, 13 Koninklijke Marechaussee employees has successfully followed the "guide by air" escort training.
The training was provided by instructors of the training centers of the Koninklijke Marechaussee from the Netherlands and consisted of a theoretical and practical part. The training was successfully completed. Goal of the program is to escort foreigners by air, in a humanitarian way, who do not voluntarily want to return to their country or airport of origin.
The Commander of the Koninklijke Marechaussee of the Caribbean, Lieutenant Colonel Hans Vroegh, has awarded diplomas in the presence of the Island Governor of Bonaire Mr. Edison Rijna and Mr. Jan Helmond, Director of the Rijksdienst Caribisch Nederland.
